Horses grazing on sandy soils are at risk of ingesting and accumulating significant quantities of sand in their gut, which will lead to discomfort and colic. Sand Gard contains the seeds of Plantago Ovata (psyllium) which swell when wet, helping the gut to sweep the sand along with the food so that it may be excreted safely. Anti-oxidants also help to maintain a healthy gut environment. Sand Gard is designed to be fed as a 7 day course every 6 weeks. 1.4kg fed at 4 scoops per day will last approx 7 days.
